G1 Model 1978-1989
G1 serial numbers can be found under the rear bumper stamped into the square cross member of the frame, the number can be on either side of the cross member.
A distinguishing feature of the G1 is the entire body, including seats, lifts up and back to reveal the engine or motor.
G2 1985-1990/G9 1991-1995
Until 1988 G2 serial numbers can be found under the rear bumper stamped into the square cross member of the frame on the passenger's side of the vehicle. From 1988 through to 1995, the G2/9 serial number can be found under the seat where the floorboard meets the engine compartment, just behind the back edge of the floor mat. The best way to distinguish between the G2 and the G9 is by the dash trim. The G2 has aluminium trim around the dash where as the G9 had a rubber trim.
G14 1995-1996
G14 serial numbers are located under the front seat.
Locate the battery, there is a vertical support beam underneath the seat hinge near the battery. This beam should have the serial number either stamped into the beam or on a plate attached to it.
G16/G19/G20
These serial numbers can be found just under the storage compartment on the far left of the driver's side of the vehicle. However, some early model G16's have the number in the same position as the G14 model.
